Here are some pictures. Mike has a better camera, I'll get his pics up ASAP.
Hockey team got honored on the field before the game
A lot of shotgun today.
Flutie had a very good game.
Crane driving
Codi Boek
I don't pretend to be a football analyst, but here are a few general impressions:
-Crane is solid, but unspectacular. He can throw while on the run, he's big, he can move. His arm is okay, and he isn't great at picking out receivers, but he'll be solid.
-Haden looks a lot shorter than the listed 5'8'' - he's quick but he has trouble finding the hole
-Billy Flutie had a really impressive game at WR. He has better hands than most of our receivers, and he even made a couple of jumping grabs.
-Gunnell and Jarvis had a case of the drops again.
-OL was better than advertised, but not great (but don't tell Johnson, the 4th string quarterback, that the OL was any good; he got pressured on every snap). I thought Claiborne had a solid game.
-Good to see Toal back out there. Raji was out with an injury.
-The defense once again showed its trademark bend-but-don't-break style, stopping 3 offensive drives within the red zone, including...
-...a 100-yard INT return for a touchdown by freshman Donnie Fletcher, who played with the first team defense since Gause was out with an injury. He was the standout in what was a solid day for the secondary.
You can't judge too much from the spring game, but the pieces are there for a solid run. I'm already excited.
