All of Maine's hackery stemmed from two things - their continued failure, and Brian Gibbons' very clean and very awesome open ice hit with about ten minutes left in the game. That hit from behind on Hayes was absolutely awful and deserved a game DQ.
BC was doing a very good job taking the high road, but I'm actually glad Petrecki messed that guy up. It wasn't necessarily the smartest way to do it, as he's sure to get suspended, but whatever... the Zidane-like headbutt was legendary.
SWEEP! I hope Maine enjoys the long ride home.
Oh... and BC women's hockey dropped Vermont 5-0 - meaning BC athletics went 9-0 this week. Nice.

From the other side:
That Kunes goal felt like it was in slow motion. It just went right over everyone trying to get it. The players attempting to get it blocked the goalie's view so it sailed right over him and landed neatly just behind the goal line. Kunes wouldn't have made that if he tried.
There was a really, really scary moment when the puck went between Muse's legs and was sitting about two inches away from the goal line. Muse was searching for it so he was moving his legs and he almost knocked it in himself. Instead, it hit the post and went to the side.
That head butt was classic but I'm kind of afraid of what he'll come up with next.
Muse had no idea he was gently pushing the puck backwards. Thankfully he inadvertently knocked it out of danger.
Maine is a team boiling with frustration. They don't have the talent they used to and they know it. They work hard and generate chances, but they have nobody finishing offensive plays.
