Bright spots from a crappy Saturday

UConn got whooped by their braindead brethren, West Virginia, 35-13, in Connecticut. Can you believe that the jokers at the AP had UConn at #25? They should join us on the 'never will be ranked again this season' list, no matter what happens from here on out.

BC women's hockey scored five goals off of arguably the best goalie in the country, Leah Sulyma, and destroyed previously-unbeaten Northeastern, 5-0, to improve to 6-0-2 on the season. They will now most likely carry their #4 ranking into Wednesday's tilt against Dartmouth.

And the Bruins played in one of the most entertaining regular season games in years, throttling the Dallas Stars, 5-1, and getting involved in numerous fights after a series of cheap shots from Dallas goons Sean Avery and Steve Ott. Highlights of Jack Edwards' commentary included "And Hnidy is re-arranging his face! He's not such a pretty little boy anymore!" and "And there's Ott, trailing Lucic, yapping like a little girl on the playground."

The highlight of the game, aside from the Bruins cashing in with three third period goals, was Andrew Ference absolutely flattening Ott with a gorgeous open-ice hit, then fighting Sean Avery.

Whether you like the Bruins or not, this video will be good in helping to fight the post-football-loss blues. Unless you're a Stars fan, or a fan of dirty hacks like Ott and Avery.
